The Nigerian Army has approved the retirement of no fewer than 34 soldiers. It was gathered that the soldiers had written to the service last year for their disengagement from the service. Our correspondent also gathered that the majority of the soldiers voluntarily resigned, while others cited medical reasons. According to a leaked memo with reference no 1 DIV/300/100, the soldiers are expected to proceed to the Headquarters Command Army Records for documentation. The memo was titled, ‘Approval for voluntary/ medical discharge soldiers third and fourth quarters 2022 03NA/37/1774 WO Musa Ibrahim-NT and 33 others’ and signed by Colonel Acunadgu on behalf of the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division in Kaduna. Nigeria needs total restructuring, says Makinde 16th November 2023 The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said that a complete restructuring of Nigeria is needed if the country must move forward. Makinde stated this in Awka, on Thursday, during the 12th Annual Zik Lecture. According to the governor, over 60 years after independence, Nigeria has managed to remain indiscernible after going through the civil war and several elections. He eulogised the late Nnamdi Azikiwe, saying that the Zik of Africa fought to ensure Nigeria remained one.
